I caused the car accident that killed someone
Five years ago I was texting while driving and hit a motorcyclist. He died at the scene. I panicked and drove away. The police never found me. Another driver who stopped to help got blamed because his car had some damage from earlier. He served time in prison. The victim's family still posts about the case every year asking for information. I think about that night almost every day. I could have stopped and helped but I was too scared. An innocent person paid for my mistake. I'll carry this for the rest of my life.
