I faked a kidnapping for ransom money
I was in debt and needed money fast. I disappeared for 4 days and had a friend send a ransom message to my family from a fake number. They paid 8,000 dollars. I 'escaped' and came home looking traumatized. My family was so relieved and grateful. They still talk about how brave I was. They have no idea it was all fake. I used the money to pay off my debts and buy some things. The guilt of putting my family through that is terrible. They were so worried and I took advantage of their love.
