I told everyone my ex was abusive when he wasn't
After my ex broke up with me I was hurt and angry. I told all our friends and family that he was emotionally abusive and controlling. I made up stories to make myself look like the victim. People still treat him badly when they see him. He lost a lot of friends because of what I said. The truth is he was a good person and I was the problem. I feel terrible about what I did to his reputation. He never defended himself publicly. I know I should tell the truth but I'm scared of what people will think of me.
