I have been lying about being sober
I tell my family, friends, and sponsor that I've been sober for 18 months. In reality I drink almost every night alone in my apartment. I hide the bottles and use mouthwash and eye drops before I see anyone. They all think I'm doing amazing in recovery. My sponsor even asked me to speak at a meeting about my progress. I feel like a complete fraud. The lying is making my addiction worse. I'm scared to admit the truth because I've built this image of being recovered. I don't know how to come clean without disappointing everyone.
