I faked being poor to get free stuff from rich friends
I have money saved but I act broke around my wealthier friends. I complain about bills and being unable to afford things. They feel sorry for me and pay for meals, trips, and activities all the time. They think I'm really struggling. I use their money to buy things I want while keeping my savings intact. They have no idea I have money hidden away. I feel like a leech and a bad friend. The pretending has become normal but the guilt is there. I don't know how to stop without losing their generosity.
